I have too many disconnected things to ramble about today so here goes. Ramble 1-I am tired of testing and correcting tests. I know it’s important, but just dragging them out of the car saps my energy. I have two sets–one done and one still tormenting me from the kitchen table! Obviously, this is my break! Ramble 2-My foot really hurts again after having to take off the wrap. I am addicted to foot wrap! I tried to have the sports med teacher at school wrap it for me, but it was too tight and very uncomfortable so I hobbled back to my room and secretly tore it off. I had no time to drive up to Dr. Podiatrist’s nurse since I needed to drive to gymnastics today. Later that day, the sports med teacher got lectured(deservedly so) for letting her kids hang around outside in our courtyard. She doesn’t have enough for them to do and gives them lots of free time and outside time. NO, NO! Not when all the rest of us are working our students and trying to teach bell to bell! On a Friday. With sophomores. In half-way decent weather. Thank you for trying to wrap my foot, but GET TO WORK, like the rest of us! Ramble 3– Parenting is very difficult when one child doesn’t know what to do about college next year and the other wants to be doing something every moment. Ashley, you need to figure out something SOON and it shouldn’t revolve around what your boyfriend is doing. You are very talented in art, English, languages(like your mother), social studies and just about every subject there is. You don’t belong at a hippie school with no art or French programs. Alison, it’s not all about you every minute, honey. You can’t spring plans on me with virtually no notice, and expect me to drive all over the place to satisfy your every whim. I might actually, GASP, have plans of my own! Ramble 4-Poor Tonya! I keep thinking about her friend situation and how traditions do change; I really hate it. One of our best friends(former) is bi-polar and his condition has worsened significantly over the past 5 years or so. I finally told my husband two years ago(after a big scare) that much as we want to help him, he was no longer welcome in our home. Hubby had paid for counseling, had him over numerous times to talk and really wanted to “fix” him. The friend is now in jail. In my more depressed moods, I think about all the wonderful camping trips under the stars, the poker games, the Easter egg hunts, the Christmas parties, the barbeques and feel overwhelming sadness…that will never be again–or not as it was! Break time is over and I’m also picking up the girls from gymnastics so… HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND, EVERYONE!!

It is hard with the kids. My two were almost the same age in their teens and expected me to be at their beck and call, which I was. It’s tough though, especially when you want some time for you.
