Today, my husband broke our deal. Our strange and unspoken arrangement is that he won’t resent me for getting up later and having a lazier schedule in the summer, if I won’t be mad that during the school year, I get up much earlier on work days. One of the few positives about a self-employed husband is that he can be home to make sure our daughters get off to school in the morning, because I am already long gone by that time. However, the other part of our arrangement is that I sleep in longer than he on the weekends, unless we both have to be somewhere like at a horrendously early gymnastics meet. This morning, I had to set the alarm twice: once to make sure Alison was up to call school for a Life issues project about babies at 4 am (ACK!) and again at 8 am to be ready to go to her first volunteer work at our Fairgrounds for Canine Fest. During this whole time, my husband snored while enjoying the whole bed to himself!(maybe I should have banged some pans around downstairs!) After I realized that I was feeling a bit put upon and understood why, I had to have a good laugh about marriage…and some of its mysterious dynamics!

I remember that day! And I still chuckle at the memory of Hubby seeming downright UNCOMFORTABLE and irritated having to wear a tux! I’ll bet he hasn’t worn one since, huh?

When B & I got married, my conditions were, I get to buy a Starbuck’s White Mocha ever day I work, & we must always have Diet Coke in the house. So far, it’s worked it well. He still whines occassionally about the cost of my Mochas, but I simply remind him, “Remember Dear, it’s in our marriage contract.”
Hey look, T, M got 6 (including mine) comments on her ONE post – more than I have on ALL OF MINE PUT TOGETHER – still wanna B – – th?
